News from ADELANTO. A California man intentionally cut his hand off on Wednesday 21, 2012, and had to be airlifted, according to the Victorville Daily Press.

A Sheriff’s dispatcher received a call at 1:23 p.m. and responded to an apartment in the 18000 block of Montezuma Street in Adelanto. The unidentified man, who wasn’t the one to call 911, was found with a self-inflicted wound, Sheriff’s Sgt. Shelley Krusbe said. It wasn’t clear why he cut off his hand or whether alcohol or drugs were involved.
The man was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center, Krusbe said. Details on his condition were not immediately released.
