A recent report by Panda Networks reveals that the U.S. rated 26th in broadband speed, compared to other countries around the globe. South Korea was rated number one, with the fastest internet speeds in the world.
The study was observed from January to June of 2011, and involved a total of 224 countries. Second place and third place fell to Romania and Bulgaria, in that order. Lithuania was 4th place and Latvia was 5th place.
South Korea dominated with internet speed of 2,202 KBps, while the United States was just above average, with speeds around 616 KBps. The average worldwide speed was 580 KBps.
