The real genius at Apple? A marketing plan to offer a well designed product that looks good, encompasses the latest technology, and is so easy to operate that a caveman can do it. But do I really need the iPad?
The answer is no, I probably don’t need it, nor can I really afford the iPad 2. And the marketing team at Apple knows that when the new iPad is out on the market, the price drop on the iPad 2 is going to attract more buyers. Therefore, cornering even more of the market share.
The Apple iPad 2 Tablet (16GB, Wifi,) NEWEST MODEL is probably going to be the main antagonist to the new iPad. While this may initially hurt sales on the new iPad, this will increase sales dramatically on the iPad 2.
Remember what happened when the price on the HP Touchpad kept falling? The Touchpad suddenly became a best selling item, unfortunately for HP because the company had to take a loss on the product.
While Apple will lower the price on an older product, it will continue to market a new product, and in the process lure new customers into the fold. It’s a win-win situation for Apple; for now, at least.
So, do I really need the Apple iPad 2 Tablet? No, but if the price keeps going down, it’s going to be hard not to at least consider it.
Will you buy the new iPad or the iPad 2?
