Sweltering summer temperatures make those short trips to town a little more uncomfortable. One problem is keeping your drink cold during the commute back and forth. In no time short, that favorite beverage tends to get warm and becomes undrinkable.
After some consideration, I stumbled across a solution to this unpleasantry. A Polar Insulated Water Bottle (Fluid Capacity: 20 ounces/24 ounces) that a bicyclist might use could be of some benefit. This particular one is popular, as well as 100% BPA-free. This is a good thing.
Another excellent choice is the Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Water Bottle (18-Ounce, 12-Ounce, 27-Ounce, 40-Ounce). This one is also 100% BPA-free. The Klean Kanteen is durable, light, and attractive.
I just love fast food restaurants. I don’t eat at them often, but it’s nice to dine out once in awhile. I understand that they need to make money; I don’t have a problem with that. But I do see a trend of price markups, and some not justifiable.
In what ways do fast food restaurants make such profit? This article from Yahoo does a great job of explaining the situation.
A soda (18 oz) in a fast food joint will cost you around $1.99. The restaurant pays about $0.16 for that same drink, a markup of more than 1250%. Now you see how they make money.
Compare that with store bought soda. For example, a 12-pack of soda can sometimes be found on sale for $3.00, or $0.25 a can, or $0.02 an ounce. It is not uncommon to buy a 12-pack of brand name soda for $4.00.
The suburbanite can stay hydrated, save money, and be blissful. Enjoy your favorite cold beverage and maybe consider a new hobby — bicycling. Have water bottle will travel.
