Ban The Bag Or Bag The Ban?
In the United States, plastic bags are being banned in some cities and not all are pleased with the decision. I don’t necessarily agree with the ban, but this is becoming the trend. Bans have been imposed at the local level in grocery stores and retail stores. Cities across the nation have approved of the ban: Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, Portland, and Seattle. Reusable shopping bags are an alternative to plastic bags. Because of the encouragement of reusable shopping bags by governments and supermarkets, reusable shopping bags have become one of the new fashion trends.
The ban of plastic bags will be fiercely debated by the public for sure. You have the pros and cons everywhere you go. Some shoppers will not agree with an alternative of paying ten cents for a paper bag. Nor will they agree with the taxation.
Well, then you ask citizens to ban plastic in their markets and at the same time you send plastic drones to spy the friendly skies in their backyards. You’re going in the extreme — from recycling laws into recycling lawns — and this just doesn’t make any sense. Maybe we should ban bad legislation?
And the ban on large drinks in New York. What’s next? Ban the all-you-can-eat buffet?
